Summary
The Med Bay is a 2x2 Defense room unlocked at level 8. Each reload cycle of the Med Bay will heal all Crew currently inside of it for 1 HP. The HP healed cannot go past the Crew's maximum HP, and Crew don't need to be idling inside the Med Bay for the healing to take effect.
Usage
In Combat
Although not powerful, the Med Bay is an accessible and reliable way of healing damaged Crew. However, it is a small room and has low HP, so the Med Bay is often targeted. Armor the Med Bay well and have repair Crew standing nearby that will leave once it's is fully repaired. Placement of the Med Bay is also important, placing it near important rooms like the Teleport helps to reduce Crew traffic to and from the Med Bay.
When To Use
The Med Bay is mainly used to keep boarders and repair Crew alive. Teleport ships and Penetrator Missile ships synergize with the Med Bay due to the importance of Crew in those strategies. However, the Med Bay's main weakness is that it does not provide enough healing fast enough to offset its vulnerability.
AI
Below is an AI command that automatically depowers the Med Bay when the chance of Crew being damaged is incredibly low. Although it may not be very useful later into the fight, it's still good to have for efficient power management. This also requires Python 3.x.
