Summary

The Power Capacitor is a 1x2 Reactor unlocked at level twelve. The Power Capacitor is meant for endgame ships, as the power demand for power increases dramatically with the added Superweapons. The Power Capacitor is the smallest Starship Reactor and the least efficient one relative to size, on par with the Coal Reactor.

Usage

Battle Mechanics

The Power Capacitor will continue to provide power even when it's upgrading, EMP'd, or System Hacked. The Power Capacitor's health bars also influence how much power it generates, with one health bar representing one power. Reactors in general also have some hidden mechanics. The game forces the player to have at least one Reactor on their ship at all times. In addition, if no Reactors on the player's ship are at full HP, the game will automatically give the player a 0% Escape Rate, regardless of the Bridge.

In Combat

The Power Capacitor is treated similarly to how the Small Reactor is treated, with the difference that Landmines and barriers cannot be used due to the 1 tile width. Security Gates should still be used to protect it from enemy boarders. The Power Capacitor needs Armor due to it's extremely low health.

When To Use

The Power Capacitor should be used if the player is having a hard time powering their ship. The amount of space the Power Capacitor takes up makes this relatively easy.

AI

The Power Capacitor cannot be programmed with AI.

Crew Interactions

The Power Capacitor cannot be buffed by Crew.
