Summary
The Small Gas Trap a 1x2 Trap room that can be purchased with 80 Doves in the Dove Store. It's essentially an inferior Security Gate, consuming double the power and having even less DPS compared to the Security Gate.
Usage
In Combat
Like the Security Gate, place the Small Gas Trap near commonly boarded areas like the Teleport, Small Reactor, etc. The Small Gas Trap also has 100 innate Armor. When combined with its 2 power consumption, the Small Gas Trap is much easier to defend when compared to the Security Gate.
When To Use
The Small Gas Trap does poorly in the mid-late game. Its damage is abysmal and cannot kill most boarders. To add insult to injury, it takes up more power than the far superior Security Gate. Early game players may see some use in the Small Gas Trap, but its price both in Doves and Power makes it very rare to see.
AI
The below AI command depowers the Small Gas Trap whenever the enemy Teleport is destroyed or missing. However, due to the limits of Python 1.0, the AI command may continue to send power even if there are no enemy boarders left, or worse, power off when there are still enemy boarders onboard.
Enemy Teleport HP > 0% -> Increase Power By 1
None -> Set Zero Power
After Python 3.x is researched, a much more effective AI command is available. Do note that there is a small window of time an enemy boarder is able to walk through the Small Gas Trap due to its reload time.

Crew Interactions
The Small Gas Trap cannot be buffed with Crew.
